About our Real-estate law practice

Founded in Quebec City, Compliant Estate Law has been helping property buyers, sellers and investors navigate the complexities of Quebec civil law for over fifteen years.

Our story

Compliant Estate Law was established in 2009 by a small group of lawyers who shared a common frustration: real-estate transactions in Quebec were unnecessarily stressful for clients. The Civil Code of Quebec, combined with municipal zoning regulations and federal lending requirements, creates a web of rules that most people find overwhelming. We set out to change that experience.

From our first office on Rue Saint-Jean, we built a reputation for clear communication, transparent pricing and meticulous attention to detail. Over the years our team has grown, but our founding principle remains the same — every client deserves to understand exactly what is happening with their property transaction, at every step. Today we serve clients across Quebec from our office in the heart of the capital, handling everything from first-time home purchases to multi-million-dollar commercial developments.

Our deep roots in Quebec City give us an intimate knowledge of local market conditions, municipal by-laws and the unique heritage-preservation rules that apply to properties in the Old City. Whether you are acquiring a century-old townhouse in the Quartier Petit Champlain or developing a new condominium project in Sainte-Foy, we bring the local expertise that makes a measurable difference.
